The Tarrant County Master Gardener Association welcomes you to tour four gardens lying on the eastern edge of the Cross Timbers region. Tarrant County has some of the most differing soils, consisting of part black clay with fingers of sandy loam running from north to south. Come stroll through a park-like shade garden with whimsical garden art tucked in. One garden features Japanese maples, a koi pond, and long sweeping borders of perennials for sun and shade. Another garden has evolved from the typical builder landscape to one of mature tree canopies, mingled with Texas-friendly shrubs and perennials. The last garden is an expression of the owner’s lifelong love of all plants, chickens, and hardscape features.
